Social media is instant so your strategy and tactics have to move at the same pace in order to keep up!
You really can’t afford to wait days for a post to go live on social media, but there are many leaders who wait up to a week just to clear it under standard approval procedures laid out by their company. To make things worse, there are also digital marketers that take too long to adapt to fast online trends.
Very often these will be the same people that hire a digital agency and expect instant change or establish a small digital team to embrace social media culture—while the upper management remains as slow as ever.
For example, there are many marketing leaders that still assign multiple stakeholders to oversee a single piece of content or take too long to approve a task in the pipeline; this makes it harder to share time-sensitive posts that need to go out ASAP on social media. We recommend against making 'fast' a buzz word.
The most successful leaders are those who realise a company that embraces change at all levels is able to catch up to rapid trends online. Likewise, digital marketers who are able to see these trends and set leaders on the right path are also able to find success in social media.
